How to use LinkedIn for job search?

In the 21st century, there are a lot of platforms to find jobs but I believe LinkedIn is the only professional and decent platform to use for your job search journey.

The job is directly posted by the concerned person, HR and sometimes by the founders also (New startups).

I'll explain all the possible ways in which you can use LinkedIn for your job search.

First way-

Once you open your LinkedIn app you will see the "Jobs" option on the bottom right so you need to click on that.
After clicking you will see the below interface, where you will get recommended jobs as per your LinkedIn profile details and also you get an option to search jobs.
If you click on search jobs then you get the below interface.
You can search by the job title, skills or company's name and also you get an option to fill the city, state, Pincode or simply the location you want.

For example, I have searched for a content writing role for the Mumbai location.
On the above page, you get a lot of filters like distance, date posted, experience level, job type (full time, internship or on contract), option to select on-site or remote (Work from home).

Lastly, the Easy apply option which I like the most. In this, you just need to fill in your basic details and attach your CV and click on submit, your LinkedIn profile also gets shared with this so make sure it is updated.

If you click on any job then you get the below interface where you can see the details of the Company and the Job Description.
If you find the job suitable then you can simply click on Easy apply.

Also sometimes you don't get the easy apply option and you are redirected to the company's official site so from there you can submit the job application.

You can also create a job alert for your search, you just need to tick the below icon and you're done. You will receive the alerts on your email as well as on your LinkedIn app.

Second way-

The second way is to make connections.
You can send the connection request to the HRs, consultants or someone who can refer you to their organisation.

Reach out to them professionally and build good relations. Also, don't spam with a lot of messages.

Third way-

You can also create a post on LinkedIn by quoting your skills, experience and the desired role you're looking for.

If someone notices your post then they might reach out to you or might refer to someone who is hiring.

Also, make sure to keep your LinkedIn profile updated with the relevant skills, experience, basic details like education, internships or certifications (If any).

In this way, you can use LinkedIn for your job search, All the best ;)

See y'all in the next blog, Cheers!
